David Mayfield Parade – Record Release Party

May 16th – David Mayfield was practically born into bluegrass, hitting the road at an early age with his family’s band and honing his skills on bass. As a teenager, he quickly earned a reputation as a standout instrumentalist, picking up national accolades for his lightning-fast work on guitar and mandolin. His flair for performance began turning heads during his time as a backing player in his sister Jessica Lea Mayfield’s band—most notably during their appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. Even then, it was clear: Mayfield had a magnetic stage presence and the instincts of a true frontman.

He brought that charisma and musicianship to Cadillac Sky, joining the progressive bluegrass band just as they were sharing stages with Mumford and Sons to sold-out crowds. Around that time, inspired by songwriting legends like Randy Newman and Simon & Garfunkel, Mayfield began penning his own material. With encouragement from his sister and friend Seth Avett, he stepped into the spotlight as a solo artist—and hasn’t looked back.

Since then, Mayfield has toured relentlessly, delivering shows that are equal parts musical showcase and theatrical experience. A born entertainer—a trait nurtured in his family band—he leaves a lasting impression wherever he plays. But beyond the charm and showmanship, it’s his heartfelt songwriting and masterful musicianship that continue to draw audiences in, show after show.
