SUMMARY:The Lowest Pair
DESCRIPTION:October 24th- The Lowest Pair \nKendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee\, both playing guitar and banjo and trading vocals; hers an achingly beautiful distinctive tone that complements his smoky delivery to perfection.” –– Americana UK \nThe Lowest Pair has questions. The duo\, made up of Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee\, know that we tend to see duality as a problem. We want life to be linear\, working through the dark to finally get to the light. Grief to joy\, despair to hope\, confusion to clarity––not a jangly cycle we can’t escape. But through their incandescent folk songs\, the Lowest Pair often ask: What if we sit with the mess? What if that’s not just more peaceful\, but more magical\, too? \nOn their 8th album Always As Young As We’ll Ever Be\, the Lowest Pair prove that over the last dozen years together\, they’ve become some of modern roots music’s most mesmerizing\, thoughtful purveyors. Produced by Tucker Martine (The Decemberists)\, the 10-track album puts the duo’s stark lyricism\, string-driven arrangements\, and raw compatibility on brilliant display and as a result\, Always As Young As We’ll Ever Be pulses with life. \nThe Lowest Pair’s musicianship is another beautiful testament not just to playing that breathes\, but playing that listens. Winter\, who grew up in Arkansas but has lived in Washington State for the last two decades\, and Lee\, a Minnesota native\, first gained attention as poetic singer-songwriters on banjos. While their family of strings has expanded\, their fundamental approach hasn’t: Respond to sounds and stories the other is making. \nGeneral Admission: 22.00 \nJoin us before the show in the bar area at 7pm\nConcert Hall doors open at 7:30pm \nMusic at 8pm

SUMMARY:Westbound Situation
DESCRIPTION:November 4th – Westbound Situation \nWestbound Situation blends the precision of classical chamber music\, the rhythmic drive of bluegrass\, and the colorful expression of jazz into a new style of chamber music—chambergrass. The quartet—comprised of Grant Flick on violin\, Jake Howard on mandolin\, Zach Brown on cello\, and Jacob Warren on bass—mixes composition and improvisation seamlessly into their entirely memorized arrangements. \nThe group formed out of the Acoustic Music Seminar (AMS)\, a program run by multi-instrumentalist Mike Marshall. The program accepts 16 talented string players under the age of 22 from around the world to participate in a week of intense improvisation\, composition and performance training. All four were two time participants\, an honor that not everyone is able to receive. Some notable AMS alumni include Paul Kowert of the Punch Brothers\, Alex of Turtle Island String Quartet\, and Xavier Foley\, winner of the 2014 Sphinx Competition. \nWestbound Situation has a strong commitment to music education. The group’s combined experience in classical\, bluegrass\, jazz\, and original/improvised music is something not typically offered in the standard curriculum found at most schools and colleges (at least not all at the same time). These styles\, among others\, give each student the chance to make their own music\, and through this process valuable lessons in creativity\, listening\, and leadership are achieved. Each member of the group maintains a private studio\, and all have been invited to provide workshops and masterclasses at schools and festivals across the country. \nWestbound Situation’s exciting and diverse concerts feature a set of unique original repertoire colored with recognizable standards from many genres. With bluegrass\, classical chamber music\, and jazz all coming together in the group’s concept of chambergrass\, a Westbound Situation concert is dazzling musical journey not soon forgotten. \nGeneral Admission – 25.00\nJoin us in the bar area before the show at 7pm\nConcert Hall opens at 7:30pm\nMusic at 8pm

SUMMARY:Abbie Gardner
DESCRIPTION:November 7th – Abbie Gardner \nAbbie Gardner is a fiery dobro player with an infectious smile. Whether performing solo or with Americana darlings Red Molly\, her tales of love and loss\, both gritty and sweet\, are propelled by her impeccable slide guitar chops. As an award-winning songwriter\, captivating vocalist\, and a world-class lap style dobro player\, she has an unmistakable sound all her own. This is masterfully captured on her 2022 CD “DobroSinger.” The record made it to #11 on the Billboard Blues Charts and #2 on the Folk DJ Charts\, receiving rave reviews in Bluegrass Unlimited\, Acoustic Guitar Magazine and American Songwriter. It’s a raw intimate recording full of blues\, ballads and the ache of the unknown. It’s quite a contrast to her previous CD\, which featured a co-write with Chris Stapleton and leaned on full band production. Abbie stands strong as a solo act and has opened for Lori McKenna and Martina McBride. \nAcoustic Guitar Magazine says\, “sheer brilliance and power … her evocative guitar is a second voice throughout\, sometimes singing in unison\, in harmony other times\, or answering as in a conversation with the singer. The playing and singing are both impeccable and loaded with personality. You can hear every nuance of the slide\, smooth one moment or rattling slightly at the end of a phrase like punctuation; and her intimate\, pitch-perfect vocals—wistful\, playful\, confessional—sound like they’re dancing with the guitar.” \nGeneral Admission: 25.00\nJoin us in the bar area before the show at 7pm\nConcert Hall doors open at 7:30pm\nMusic at 8pm

SUMMARY:Driftwood
DESCRIPTION:November 21 – Driftwood \nMusic has guided Driftwood to hallowed ground many times since its founding members\, Joe Kollar and Dan Forsyth\, started making music as high schoolers in Joe’s parents’ basement. Whether the Upstate New York folk rock group—which today also includes violinist Claire Byrne\, bassist Joey Arcuri\, and drummer Sam Fishman—are converting new fans on a hardscrabble tour across the country or playing to a devoted crowd at hero Levon Helm’s Woodstock barn\, the band’s shapeshifting approach to folk music continues to break new ground. \n“Driftwood is basically a beautiful friendship that happens to play music together\,” says Joe. “I know it’s rare. I know I’m lucky to know these people and lean on them and go through these massive life changes together.” For Driftwood\, each song is like a journal entry: cathartic to create\, yes\, but capable of unlocking new lessons—and when shared—forging new bonds. “We’re communal\, right? Humans need to be connected\,” Joe says. “And we get to have this special thing.” \nGeneral Admission – 30.00\nJoin us before the show in the bar area at 7pm\nConcert Hall opens at 7:30pm\nMusic at 8pm

SUMMARY:Bronwyn Keith-Hynes
DESCRIPTION:February 19th – Bronwyn Keth-Hynes \nFor her third album\, Rattlin’ Bones\, Bronwyn\, a Grammy-winning artist and two-time IBMA “Fiddle Player of the Year\,” decided to purposely leave her comfort zone and dive headfirst into a new\, unknown realm of musical possibility—Songwriting. \n“If I’m going to be an artist and a front person\, I’m going to need my own material that fits the live show\,” Bronwyn says. While her debut album\, Fiddler’s Pastime (2020)\, was an instrumental offering showcasing Bronwyn’s fiddle skillset and prowess\, it was the sophomore release\, I Built A World (2024)\, that introduced the world to her singing style. And yet\, with Rattlin’ Bones\, it truly feels like Bronwyn has dug deep within to finally uncover and embraceher unique talents and sonic tones. \nBacked by a whirlwind array of pickers\, Bronwyn has elevated herself into the national spotlight of Americana\, bluegrass and roots music as of late\, which is why the urge to jump into the studio and capture this momentum and energy seemed like the perfect timing with Rattlin’ Bones. \nHitting the road with Bronwyn Keith- Hynes is:\nmandolinist Tristan Scroggins\, banjoist Frank Evans\, bassist Larry Cook and guitarist Grant Dresnok. \n“As far back as I can remember\, I wanted to be a fiddler. And being a fiddler has led me to some of the most amazing experiences\,” Bronwyn reflects. “I’m so grateful to have been able to do a lot of things I always wanted to do. That has sort of led to me feeling a sense of freedom where I’m not trying to prove anything to anybody\, I’m just enjoying creating music that means something to me.” \nGeneral Admission : 25.00 \nJoin us in the bar area at 7pm\nConcert Hall doors open at 7:30pm\nMusic at 8pm
