The Designer Barn was built in the 1860s. It was converted in 1962 by Robert L. Hunker into a design studio and workroom for Hunker Associates, Inc. In 1969, the barn was again modified to add an apartment living complex for Mr. Hunker on the top floor.
Used as Mr. Hunker’s residence until his passing, The Designer Barn is now used as an Airbnb, giving guests a truly unique experience to enjoy while visiting Peninsula. Overnight accommodations for up to eight guests, unlike many rentals, this one is full of historic antiques and artifacts. It is ideally situated in the heart of Peninsula within walking distance to the shops, galleries and restaurants as well as the towpath trail and Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
